My first trip with Caroline was all I expected and more with a wonderful week in both north and south Ireland.    The entire trip, from start to finish, was well-managed and lots of fun!  Sites were well-chosen with a good balance between golf and tours.  The hotels were very nice and in good locations. Breakfasts included at both hotels were delicious with multiple choices.

Golf – St. Margaret’s Golf Country Club in Dublin was host to our “match” play with the Irish woman’s group; delightful group of ladies with lots of laughs and enjoyable social time.  The first day of golf at Rosapenna Golf Resort – Old Tom Morris Links, Letterkenny, in hurricane-force winds with sleet and rain was definitely a challenge (keeping the ball on the tee); however, after 7 holes, the 19th hole was welcoming.  The second day at Rosapenna (Sandy Hills Course, right along the ocean) was beautiful and well worth the return visit.  The final round, Portmarnock Links, was a true links experience, including lost balls, but another great experience.

Tours –The first day’s bus tour of Dublin, as well as the visit to the Glendalough Monastic site, Powerscourt Waterfall, Estate and Gardens, was relaxing yet still informative.  The visit to Newgrange Megalithic Tomb and the boat cruise of Lough Erne at Enniskillen were educational, fascinating and beautiful.  I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with knowledgeable guide in Derry, and the tour and tasting at Old Bushmill’s Distillery was lots of fun.  Our final tour to the Giant’s Causeway (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) was a highlight which I’m glad was included.

After this trip, I have such confidence in Caroline that I look forward to participating in other trips with her.

Cairn Tours does a fantastic job of planning an excellent tour.  What I really loved is that it's not all about golf.  Every other day was filled with visiting tourist attractions, each one more special than the next.  Every day was very well organized for transportation and activities.   I would highly recommend that you join Caroline on one of her next adventures.

Ireland is a beautiful country I've longed to visit and golf is my favorite sports activity. Combine the two with well chosen sightseeing and shopping opportunities and that is what Caroline O'Brien orchestrated in September for twenty women from Northern California and Nebraska. Our tour began at the beautiful Portmarnock Resort outside Dublin where we enjoyed great accommodations, wonderful food and drink, visits to beautiful historic sites and a round of golf with Irish partners. On to Letterkenny with more fantastic sites, time for local shopping and very "memorable" days of golf, including shots of Jameson's, on the west coast of Northern Ireland. Then back to Portmarnock for a final round of golf at the Portmarnock Links.

Caroline  did a fantastic job of planning and organizing every aspect of our tour. In just eight days, we all enjoyed a variety of sightseeing sites, a number of fun and delicious meals and, of course, four days of memorable golf.

The Ireland tour was amazing. The golf courses were beautiful and challenging, yet fun to play. We were introduced to incredible historical sites and vistas. The country and people of Ireland were wonderful. Trip of a lifetime!
