Solheim Cup 2023

The Solheim Cup is a biennial golf tournament that pits the best female golfers from the United States and Europe against each other. It is one of the most prestigious events in women's golf, and the next edition will be held in 2023 in Spain and Cairn Tours will be there.

The Solheim Cup has been played since 1990, with the United States winning 10 times and Europe winning 6 times. The tournament is named after Karsten Solheim, the founder of PING golf equipment, who was a driving force behind its creation.

In 2023, the 18th edition of the Solheim Cup will be held at Finca Cortesin Golf Club in Andalusia, Spain. This will be the first time that the Solheim Cup has been held in Spain, and the second time that it has been played in Europe since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The European Union will be looking to defend their title after winning the 2019 Solheim Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland. They won the tournament by a score of 14.5 to 13.5, with Suzann Pettersen clinching the victory for Europe with a putt on the final hole. They will be led by veteran Solheim Cup participants like Anna Nordqvist, Laura Davies, Caroline Martens and may include Maja Stark, Linn Grant, Georgia Hall, Celine Boutier, Leona Maguire, Charley Hull, Madelene Sagstrom, and Georgia Hall. The United States team will be looking to bounce back after their narrow defeat in 2019, they will be led by top-ranked golfer Stacey Lewis, and likely include Nellie Korda who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Other top American players may include United States, Lilia Vu, Danielle Kang, Lexi Thompson, Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho, Andrea Lee, Allisen Corpuz and Jessica Korda. The Solheim Cup is always a highly anticipated event for golf fans, and the 2023 edition promises to be no different. With the tournament moving to Spain for the first time, the players will be battling it out on a new course and in a new environment, adding an extra element of excitement to the proceedings. We are so excited to be some of the golf fans on site for the event!

As the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Solheim Cup will also be an opportunity to celebrate the resilience of women's golf and the dedication of the players who have continued to hone their skills and compete throughout this challenging time. We can't wait to see what the 2023 Solheim Cup has in store and are so excited about seeing the action live at Finca Cortesin Golf Club in Costa Del Golf (we mean Costa Del Sol), Andalusia, Spain.
