While many of us will add a loaf of soda bread to our St. Patrick's Day table, most of us will not be enjoying the traditional Irish "Brown Bread". This simple and delicious brown bread gets its hearty flavor from whole wheat flour. The traditional Irish method of bread-making doesn’t use yeast but instead uses bicarbonate of soda as a sort of instant raising agent. It’s a totally forgiving, easy way of baking that requires no kneading and a lot less mess too. Enjoy with a good spread of our favorite Kerrygold butter.
